I used to live in Richboro Pa for 37 years until I move to NC last March 2006.

Central Bucks and Council Rock School system is one of the best in Bucks County Pa.
There are few bad things in school system but it is no different from any other school.

Cost of living in Bucks County is approx 50 to 65% more than Lehigh County.
Property and school taxes are base on assessment value of the home.

Some older development the assessment value is base on 1973 home value.
My father pays 4,078 dollars for his 2280 sq ft house on .87 acre land. If you were to build a new home or purchase a home on new developement that have nearly identical house size and property size then you will be looking at between 6,000 to 7,900 dollars.

It is kinda hard to explain. I think I did my best.
Good Luck.

Richboro is just south of Doylestown.

Used to be farm community but new home builders really ruin it. They are building new homes like there is no tomorrow.
If you can find older development then it is worth every penny but be prepare to spend a lot of money.

Council Rock school system is one of the best. Believe me because I graduate from Council Rock High school back in 1985.

My opinion, Richboro is more convenience than Doylestown. It is almost centrally located. Not too far from I95, Rt 132 [ Street Rd], Rt 611, Rt 232 [ Second Street Pike ], and Rt 332.

There are Catholic Church, Lutheran Church and others.
There are Pizza Hut, McDonald, KFC and other Mom / Pop eatery places.

Davis Pontiac is the only dealership located in Richboro Pa. You could go to Bill Marsh Ford, Stockburger Chevrolet and Stockburger Chysler in Newtown Pa which is only 7 miles away.

Tyler State Park is the popular place for fishing, jogging, bike riding and sight seeing.

Oxford Valley Mall is about 14 miles south of Richboro. It is good hang out spot for teens and excellent Christmas shopping.

Downtown on Main Street of New Hope is about 14 miles from Richboro. It is excellent for antique collectors and window shopping.

Bottom line...
If you have the money then you can't go wrong with Richboro Pa.

Only Allentown. It was the conversion of family homes to HUD apartments. Caucasions are the minority in all Allentown schools.

That's good because I love Caucasions. I'm a serious redneck.

We love Bucks County but be aware there is a 1 to 1-1/2 % earned income in Bucks county. I am not sure if Lehigh has that tax.

Its called Bucks County earned income. It is based on all household income. If you make 50,000 per year and your townships earned income is 1% , then every year you owe 500.00 to the township. I live in Nockamixon township and the rate there is 1 and 1/4 % . Pension income and social security are not taxable therefore exemp from E. I T. Hope this helps.

is this true even if income is not earned in Pa? If you work out of state does it still apply?
