bigmomma, If you go to SchoolMatters - Find a School (http://www.schoolmatters.com/schools.aspx/q/page=fnd - broken link) and select a school you can also see the demographics for that school and the area where it's located. Most of the school districts surrounding Allentown and Bethlehem are 90% white. I've seen a number of Asian families moving into Southern Lehigh but we are not diverse at all. I agree that there is a German heritage but for many people that means their Grandparents were Pennsylvania dutch, and that's about it. The most recent immigrant in our family probably came over in the early 1900's.

I think YankeeCajun probably means that he/she lives in Lower Macungie, which could have a "Macungie" mailing address. Macungie borough is indeed mostly white with German heritage, while Lower Mac Twp. has some diversity, the good kind.
