Sorry for the idiotic question, but Google and my gps are confusing me.

My daughter is heading back to college tomorrow from Maine to Philadelphia. She tries to avoid route 95 because of traffic so she goes route 78 west from NJ to route 476 south to Philly.

Alas, there doesn't appear to be an exit ramp! In fact, she and I both (on separate trips) ended up off the freeway on secondary roads to get to 476.

What is the best way to do this?

Thanks!

(We're really not nitwits - at least we think we're not...)

You're correct that there's no direct exit.

From 78 around Allentown, take 309 north and then 22 West to get on 476. Both 309 and 22 are freeways in this area. There should be signs directing you to 476 or PA Turnpike, Northeast Extension.

That's exactly right. You only go up a couple of exits on 309 to get off on 22 WEST. The exit to the turnpike is within a 1/2 mile of getting onto 22.
