Wife and I will be looking for new carpet for our basement. I've been leaning towards Carpet One, based on advertising, but am not sure if this is the right place to go to. We live in Forks, so closer to here would be nice, but not neccesary. Anyone have any success stories with carpet retailers? BTW, Empire, Home Depot and Lowes aren't even going to be considered.

BTW...what color would look nice with orange walls and black trim (yes, its a halloween themed basement).

Thanks!

Craft Rug Mills in Easton (on Line St. in South Side) is where we always shopped for carpet. No one else would give us the deal they would and they have been in busy for many, many years.

My first thought for rug color would be a soft ivory frieze. Frieze is the new, improved version of the shag rug but it comes in different heights. It's a little funky, doesn't show the footprints and dirt as easily as other carpets, and would go well with those colors. Sounds like a cool room!

I'm glad someone came up with a suggestion! We haven't replaced the carpet in our home yet, but will probably have to do so soon. But I think that's after the roof and heat pump. With a 20 year old house, everything is starting to go.

The rug color sounds tricky. Black will show up every little piece of lint but not dirt. Orange would not even be on the table. I like pennsynative's suggestion for the color. What are you leaning to?

We were leaning towards grey if we do it. Its neutral and matches. We went to price it out. Local carpet place here wanted like $2800. Its the basement....not the Taj Mahal! Most likely we will just deal with the vinyl that is there now. Its too much money. We figured about a $1k. Who knew CHEAP carpet was so much.

I love Craft Rug Mills.........We used the one in Tannersville and our daughter used the one in Easton.
Great buys and great service.........Nice people to deal with.
They did my entire home here. I love warm carpet on my feet........
Savos they will find you a great carpet for a good price.......be sure to stop in there. Say what you want to spend.....
You won't need to have vinyl......
