I live in Northwest Hunterdon County and currently commute to Princeton. I work for the federal government but I'm beginning to start to look for something new. Easton would be an easy commute (23 miles mostly on Route 78 heading west in the AM/30 minutes) compared to what I do now (40 miles/1 hour 15 minutes each way). My experience is actually working in community relations, but my interests are fairly varied. I've looked at Lafayette College and I know that the Crayola corporation is centered there, but what are the other major employers?

A lot of people commute to NJ. The major employers in the Lehigh Valley are mostly Hospitals, such as Easton Hospital. Victraulic is a large company based out of Easton. Crayola is a large one you mentioned. Education is also pretty big in the area. If you're looking west to the larger cities of Bethlehem and Allentown, you can find a lot more jobs.

I just read a 5 page article on why you should move to the lehigh valley on a US Air jet last week. I'm flying again next week, so I'll try to get some photos for the forum.

If you work in "community relations" you might be interested to know that all of the county services, including federal court, are located in Easton. All of the Department of Public Welfare, Assistance offices, and correctional facilities are in Easton. There are also quite a few non profit agencies in Easton. Good luck!
