i would definitely say NEITHER.. GO WITH DIRECT TV.. We just cancelled Servie Electric tonight because thier lack of customer service. Just to cancel it took over 1 hour and 20 minutes. Theyt are and 8 to 5 operation and do not work in between if needed. Awful service. not recommended!

I didn't have much problem with SE in my old house, but I got tired of continuous rate hike by RCN in my current home. I kept their Internet service and switched to DirecTV and VoIP and Verizon phone service five years ago. We'd occasionally lose the Internet connection and sometimes get frustrated with a lack of knowledge in their tech support--at least it's better than dealing with technologically-handicapped people from another country though.

I have Service Electric Bundle. The prices go up every year as other services do.
Verizon touts Fiberoptic service. Service Electric ran fiber optic cable in my area six years ago.

I have a 50 inch plasma tv. A friend in the Easton PA area has Verizon. The picture on HD is identical.
Don't be fooled. Also DSL gives better access for drive around hackers.

We switched from Service Electric to RCN back in November because of their proclamation that all customer service and technical service representatives now are back at call center's in the United States.

I've spoken to friends who also have done the switch from whatever provider they had to RCN solely because of of their American jobs stance.

Since signing up in November we have had no interruption in cable or internet service.

All this combined equals our money being spent with RCN.

The difference between Verizon fiber and Service Electric fiber is Verizon actually runs fiber into the home, while Service Electric just runs fiber to the pole.

I know several people that have Service Electric and the picture quality of my FIOS service is significantly better. Maybe their areas haven't been upgraded yet?

The price of 25 Mbps cable only from RCN keeps rocketing up and down. One day it is $30/month, the next day $95/month, then it is $60/month, and it is currently $40/month. I've never seen a commodity change like that.

We have RCN, and it's fine, especially if you get the TiVo box (the regular UI looks 10 years old). The internet is fast enough and service is always up.

Fios is very expensive to install for Verizon, so I wouldn't count on that.
