Sadly I will not be attending all of these events as I have to work my crappy job in Allenswamp, but I will get there later and see what I can.

Instrumental surf psychadellic rock band from NY, the Coffin Daggers who have gotten huge support from WDIY will be at Plaza Tropical this afternoon. The Coffin Daggers played WDIY's anniversary party and also the Wildflower Cafe. No doubt members of the Lehigh Valley Inteligencia hipster contingent will be in attendance. I think I can actually catch this show before going to work at the Allenswamp boiler room.

Los Straitjackets in lucha libre wrestling mask attire will come on next and indeed bring down the house with their brand of surf rock. The Los Straitjackets have played Musikfest previosuly and have developed a huge following. The area interest in Los Straitjackets can also be credited to WDIY as the station has been playing their music for years.

Austin Texas Rockabilly legend Rosie Flores will be playing AMericaplatz from 9 to 11. I will indeed be in attendance for this one. WDIY has also played Rosie Flores over the years. To be fair Americana station WXLV has also played Rosie Flores.

If you are a member of the Lehigh Valley Intelligencia Hipster Contingent Im sure I will see you. If not, you are welcome to join.

I think we caught a couple of songs from the Los Straitjackets last year. Would they play at Americaplatz, by the library?

I like Musicfest, not the huge crowds or the weird polka bands, but the way they have all different kinds of bands, and food choices and the vendor stuff is often pretty unique also. I like how you can wander from venue to venue. Now, if only this stupid rain would go away!

The Lehigh Valley intelligencia hipster contingent? What is it about instrumental bands playing late 50's/early 60's inspired novelty music that makes it's listeners either hip or sophisticated? Is it the mindless embrace of irony? Is it the fact that the Lehigh Valley is so painfully unhip that an "Allenswamp" wage slave can feel superior by digging the cutting edge theme song from "The Munsters"?
