I'll be working tomorrow, Saturday September 12, but for anyone that is interested there is a big bike race tomorrow in Allentown. Univest Grand Prix | Watching the Races It's actually a time trial for a bigger race but looks like a big deal to me! Here's hoping for some good weather!

I wanted to go but couldn't drag my little gal out in this weather. My son (the cyclist) was very annoyed that they had this during school hours

The next two stages are being held this weekend:

Hi there- Can't attend the race cause we are still in Florida but planning (still) to move to Lehigh Valley. I love that there are many bike paths and parks there. We are cycling fanatics!! We are looking at a home online in Bethlehem Twp. Is that are as nice as what I have read about Bethlehem? We are tired of the heat but I am also wondering will I freeze my ____ off in the winter? Any advice would be great.

If you never lived in an area that has a real winter, then you are in for a big change. But, once you bundle up you'll be fine. We do have an LL bean store up here!

There are a lot of bikers around here, which really puzzles me because they often cycle on our back roads that have no shoulders and often ditches on the side. It can get a little tricky when there are cars coming both ways. I think the Lehigh Valley is beautiful. Hope you think so too!

Bethlehem does have some bad areas, if you need to run an address by some locals, feel free to post. I personally don't know Bethlehem as well as some other posters, but we can all help.

I love LL Bean. I was born and raised in Detroit so I know about cold but after living in Fla for 25 years it will take awhile for my blood to thicken (or is it thin?) I was wondering how long it would take to get to NYC from Bethlehem. We are not needing it for work-just do shows every other month there. I am getting excited again about moving and all these forums REALLY help. I feel like I know some of you already. Has the casino opened yet????

I go to NYC fairly often and always take the Bieber bus from Hellertown. It's an hour and a half more or less. It's a great easy way to get there and back. Bieber Tours - Home

I have read alot of comments on Bethlehem on these forums but nothing about Bethlehem Township. How far away is it from Bethlehem? I am used to driving alot down here so a 15 to 30 min trek is nothing for us. Is it like a rural area with nothing around for miles except houses?
And did the casino open yet??? Thanks for info

I'm sorry I wasn't reading very closely when you wrote Bethlehem township. I googled it and see that you are talking about an area to the west of the city, near Northampton Community College. That's a nice area. I wouldn't call it rural, more live city overflow and developments. To me, rural means farms.

Yes, the casino opened early in the summer.
