Hi,

I am thinking of attending the "Irish festival" in Bethlehem this coming weekend and would like to know if anyone who has attended this festival in the past would have any feedback on things to see, or things to be avoided while there.?
Is the music and lay out of the stages good and can i buy food and drinks in the festival grounds.?

Also are there any other good spots in Bethlehem with live music on the weekend and where one could get something to eat as well.?

I know about Sands casino which i will probably check out also but just wondering are there any other places worth going along to.

Thanks

Ah, you mean Celtic Fest! Celtic Classic- Highland Games & Festival Yes, there will be plenty of food there. I've never been but I've heard it's a lot of fun.

Bethlehem is a great little city to visit with or without festivals. The Bethlehem Brew Works is a cool local restaurant right on Main Street The Brew Works » Bethlehem Brew Works My daughter and her friends also like the Wired Cafe - the shops at 520 Main Lots of great restaurants in town, just walk down Main Street. Here's some more information about the city - City of Bethlehem

Celtic Fest has pretty good music and stage layouts. There will be plenty of food to purchase onsite although a bit expensive. I am not Irish but was excited to attend and found it to be somewhat of a let down. Maybe that is because I am not Irish and couldn't relate as well. I have friends who are Irish and go every year.

If you are looking for good restaurants outside of the fest, Edge and Apollo are excellent. They are located on Broad St., across from each other, just off Main St. The shops are fun to explore on Main and offer some unique items. My favorite time of year in Historic Bethlehem, though, is during the Christmas season. If you are not local, it's worth the trip to see how pretty it is at night all lit up.

I love Celtic Fest! We enjoy the bagpipe and fiddle competitions. Always fun watching the caber tossing--we usually get food and watch that. Plenty of food and beer and men in skirts Have fun!
