So what do you people do for fun in the lehigh valley? I know one person who never seems to leave the house and that must be so much fun!!!! This person has such a great life that they live to play on the internet because it probably takes them away from the reality of having a crappy life. Me I always have fun and have lots of real life friends! It's awesome and I think everyone should try it

Why not just share with them how the awesome things you do around town and maybe it'll encourage them?

Although who knows... some people are just happy with not getting out at all... that's their choice.. not your business.

I only live in the LV because I can't yet afford to move somewhere else. But if you're not into outdoors stuff like hunting, fishing and stuff like that I would avoid this area.

For eight-nine months out of the year, I am in the Lehigh Valley attending college (until Fall 2015).

At first, finding fun things to do in the Valley was hard. Being from the Philadelphia area, I missed how I could just hop on one of SEPTA's 13 regional rail trains and travel to Philly and even NYC. What I have come to learn, however, is that there are fun things to do up here! When I have the opportunity to travel on the weekends, I will hang out at the Lehigh Valley Mall with friends sometimes. This was my most common thing to do for the last two semesters as I did not have a good idea of what goes on in the Valley.

When I come back to school in August, I plan to do several things. First of all, I want to try out some of the batting cages in the area. I used to play baseball for my hometown. Secondly, I want to go exploring in Phillipsburg since I discovered that I can just walk over the Northampton Street Bridge in Easton and just walk into New Jersey. I will also try to attend an Iron Pigs game since I am a HUGE Phillies Phan! Additionally, I will make more trips to Dorney Park, if possible. Finally, there is a gun range around here that I want to try out.

PhilliesPhan, Sounds like you might be attending Lafayette, so this might be a little out of the way, but you should try to catch a baseball game here: Limeport Baseball Stadium It's a neat old time baseball stadium in the tiny town of Limeport, near Center Valley and Coopersburg. Our local HS team plays here in the Spring and than the local adult leagues take it over for the summer. http://limeportstadium.org/

Boredom via geographical location is a symptom of a mind anesthetized by immediate gratification.

Lift your eyes from your smart phones and look around you.

Lehigh Valley residents who want to escape the sprawl for some outdoor fun, shopping, shows, and dining should visit Jim Thorpe, a 30-minute drive N of Allentown on the NE TPK.

In the 1800's, Jim Thorpe (then called Mauch Chunk, the "Switzerland of America" set in the beautiful Lehigh Gorge) was the second most popular tourist destination in the U.S. after Niagara Falls. When you visit there it's easy to see why.

Jim Thorpe is right in your back yard. It's also part of the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton, PA-NJ Metropolitan Statistical Area, and indeed many J.T. residents work and do business in the Lehigh Valley.
