Whats your favorite doggie joint in the valley? Right now my fave is Greasy Dick's (Richard's Drive-In) in Forks. I'm sure we'll see a lot of votes for Yoccos, Jim's, and Toby's, but wanted to see what everyone thinks.

Jimmy's in Palmer Township beats Greasy Dick's! There's something about the way they cook them....they just taste better. YUM! Now you've got me hungry for one and I live out of town. A dog with everything next time I'm down there.

In a bit of self-promotion, I reference this thread, which doesn't answer the question, but does reference both Yocco's and Potts'.

I was in Jimmys on 225th street the other night. It was good...nothing special. I was more impressed with the "experience." We walk in and there's an old corpse behind the counter and a young kid. The kid was like the soup nazi from Seinfeld, and the old guy, who I imagine is "Jimmy" looked like he was one foot in the grave. He seemed like a nice guy though. Like I said, dog's were good, but not great.

Yes, the one on 25th Street. They used to be located in P'burg right across the bridge (that's where they really became known) but moved to Palmer years ago. Those of us who grew up on Jimmy's are used to their taste. The "old guy" I believe is one of the brothers who started it (if I was given correct info when I was a kid). He is always there working and keeping busy which I think is great. Obviously, this is one of those threads that will allow for opinions but no definitive correct answer. Personally, I feel Potts has no taste and Yocco's tastes overcooked. JMO

Jimmy's is my favorite, hands-down. Greasy Dick's is next for me, followed by Pott's. The only one I don't like is Yocco's - so dried-out and disgusting to me.

If Jimmy's were open 24 hours, I'd go get some right now LOL

I have yet to try potts. Yoccos just seems to not care. I agreed they do seem overcooked.

Mels doggy shack is ok, but a little bland. It's an average dog.

I'm not a hot dog fan but saw a place called Traub's hot dogs in Emmaus today and thought of this thread? Any Traub's fan's out there? Traub's Doggie - Emmaus, Pa 18049 - Morning Call
