If you believe the weather people, we're in for a good size storm. I hope everyone is snug in their homes and ready for the weather! We're going to spend the day decorating and baking and maybe wrapping a few packages. As long as the power stays on, I'm happy to be forced to stay home!

What are your weekend plans?

A taste of what is coming your way.

About 8.5 inches of snow at 8:50 AM in Reston, VA, a suburb about 20 miles to the north and west of Washington, DC. Elevation of around 500 feet above sea level. Expecting 3 inch per hour rates this afternoon, and total storm accumulations of nearly two feet with blowing and drifting too. Y'all want some of that?!

Default Snow in Northeast and 80 Degrees in So. Calif.

Hey folks, don't forget to post pictures of the blizzard. Here in So. Calif., all we get is endless sun and hot weather (that's why we get sick of it). It's 80 degrees right now, and I'm wearing shorts and a short-sleeved shirt.

I will be making a trip to NJ at the end of January, and it will be the first time I've been back in the winter in over 25 years. I know I'm in for a shock to my system - LOL.

All of you please be careful if you have to be out in that weather. I'll be thinking of my family (in NY, NJ and PA) today and tomorrow, and hoping that they are OK.

20" inches and still coming down hard in Virginia. Probably will top out well over 2 feet. Schools have already closed for the week. It's blowing and drifting everywhere.

Wow! You can keep that in Virginia Scran! We have about four inches, actually less then the first of the season snowfall a couple of weeks ago. I like it fine as long as I'm at home and the electricity stays on. It's been really cold today - we don't think it got above 20 degrees!
