Just moved to the Trexlertown/Breinigsville area and noticed a distinct "farm smell" in the air lately. Is this normal? Are there actually farms in the area or just an odd (bad) smell?

I was out at the velodrome today but didn't smell anything that caught my attention. But to answer your question, yes there are farms in the immediate area and there can be occasional smells. There are pockets of farmland in between all the development all around that area.

You better get used to it. Everybody that comes from NJ/NY complain about it. The farms were here long before they were.

Yay for farms! Often the smell comes when the farmers are spreading their manure. It takes a couple of days to seep into the soil.

Yes, that is a normal, annual smell in that area from actual farms.

I remember when i went to visit my ant in southern pa back in November, when i broad the train in Newark the Air smelled Clean , when i got off in Exton , it smelled like a Farm. I call it the "Keystone Smell" its strong near the Amish country and weaker towards the urban centers.

Yup - that would be "cow poo" you are smelling! We moved here 2 years ago and have come to love the farm smell. Yea, in the spring it can get a little strong, but it's no biggie.
