Hi,
I am new to the Lehigh Valley (live near Coopersburg/Center Valley) and will be working at Lehigh Valley Hospital at 17th Street. Can someone please tell me what this area is like in terms of crime, etc? I will be working the 3 to 11pm shift and wonder about walking to the parking lot at that time at night.

Also, do you know what the area is like around the Cedar Crest hospital location?

Thank you.

It is reasonably safe, but not like years ago. I would always be alert and not take anything for granted. The scum have moved closer to the location of the hospital and fairgrounds really ruining some nearby neighborhoods. Thursday night is a time to be extra careful, as it is a big night at the Main Gate. The club attracts mostly no good vermin, and you could be harassed by many of the drunks congregating in the general vicinity.

17th st is not that great. St lukes down the street is a bit better, the 3 blocks make a big difference.

There is no crime around the cedar crest campus though, it is just a giant parking lot with an interstate on one side and a wooded neighborhood, park and office buildings on the other.
