We are thinking of paying a visit to Lexington so we can explore a little more, since we didn't get to see that much out that way while in Louisville.

We'd like to stay downtown so we can walk to restaurants if possible.

Can anyone recommend a good hotel? I think there is a Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott Residence in town?

If you're wanting to spend a little extra, I would really recommend the Hilton downtown on West Vine Street.

My recommendation would be Gratz Park Inn. It's within walking distance of lots of good dining. My personal favorite is Jonathon's at Gratz Park.

I agree with Gratz Park Inn, it is a beautiful old historic inn. However, if you are the type of person that needs a sparkling shiny new hotel, don't bother with Gratz Park. It is nice, but it is really old and you will find a few worn edges. It is in a beautiful old neighborhood a brief, pleasant walk (like 1/4 mile) from the center of downtown.

Gratz Park underwent renovations last year.
