We are considering moving to the Lexington area. We have two adopted African American children. How tolerant is the area, especially Danville? Any areas to avoid?
^You see quite a few mixed families in Lexington, I don't think it would be an issue at all...I can't answer about Danville though, because I have never lived there...and haven't even visited in a very long time.

As a White male I can't know how is to be Black but in my experiences and private conversations I find Lexington to be one of the least racist places I've l lived. Lightyears ahead of nearby Midwestern cities and towns. In general even people who are racist keep it to themselves and are polite to by your face.
