We are looking into moving to Georgetown to build a house in a golf community. Does anyone live in or know much about either Canewood or Cherry Blossom? We are looking for any positive or negative feedback that might help us decide which neighborhood to focus on. Some of the things that are most important to us are: schools, friendly/outgoing neighbors, want kids in neighborhood (we have a 5 y/o) and quality of golf and clubhouse amenities.

The elementary schools they go to are Western for Canewood and Eastern for Cherry Blossom. I've searched the school threads in here and haven't really seen either of those come up.

School-wise, my vote is for Western. It is a strong elementary.

Normally, my vote for neighborhoods would be Canewood. However, there have been some issues coming up about their HOA as well as the possibility of running the bypass extension through the neighborhood. For example: Canewood Kentucky : NEIGHBORHOOD MESSAGE BOARD

Cherry Blossom is nice, but not in my favorite location. I'm not that fond of being that close to Toyota as well as some of the surrounding neighborhoods. I'm not aware of any issues there, though, and I have some friends who are planning to move there in the near future.

Thanks for your thoughts. We've been driving through the neighborhoods and checking out the areas and so far we like the feel of Cherry Blossom a little better (and I had seen some of the comments on that web page about Canewood and they make me a little nervous). I had taken a tour of Western and was very impressed and plan to check out Eastern soon.

Does anyone happen to know anything about Eastern?

Default me too

Hi there,

I am moving there soon also and have been attracted to Cherry blossom and the gate guarded community. Just wondered what your thoughts are now that you are down there and if you have any advise on where the housing values are best right now? Thanks.
