I pay anywhere from $29.00-$32.00. I own a home. Now my electric is terrible in the winter here.

Lexington had its chance to take control of the water utility seven years ago. The people complacently bowed to corruption and allowed KAWC to buy out the city council, thereby influencing the decision against a publicly owned utility. A public utility meant the installation of a controlling board whose membership would have been responsible to the electorate, with such things as rate increases put onto a ballot, or at least become a campaign issue. A possible history lesson should anyone consider reviving a campaign for public control of the water.

I don't know why but I just paid my $25 water bill and we're in a 3800 square foot house. I guess we've forgotten to bathe.

Our house has geo-thermal heating/cooling. Does that reflex on our water consumption? I don't know much about the system, but I do know that it works with water running back and forth through pipes underground, no?
