We are considering a move to Lexington/Richmond/Danville area to retire. However, we are concerned about the acceptance - or non-acceptance - of our family due to religious beliefs. I know there are Kingdom Halls in these towns, but is there religious tolerance toward Jehovah's Witnesses? Indifference? Hostility?
Thanks for any feedback. We are strong Christians and we want to be and have good friends and neighbors where ever we settle. And, one's religious beliefs are too important to leave out of the mix.
I think you'll fit in fine in that area. Lexington is more accepting of religious beliefs or non-beliefs, while the more rural areas of Kentucky are pretty religious orientated. They do lean to conservative Christianity, however.
I'm speaking from Louisville, where you would have no problem, but I don't think this will be an issue for you.
Thanks, all. I am going to consider it a non-issue in our relocation process. I really appreciate the feedback from everyone.
