Has anyone heard when TJ's will be opening up? I've heard rumors of August, but that seems awfully far away considering how quickly they've put that building up. I'm sure there is a lot to be done, but 4 more months seems like a stretch... Can you tell I'm excited?

Trader Joe's is much more affordable than Whole Foods. They have a lot more interesting international foods and great prices on produce. They're similar, though. The difference is mainly price and attitude. Trader Joe's feels much more down to earth. Nothing against Whole Foods. You'll have to go and see the difference for yourself, I suppose.

I called the Trader Joes in Louisville, and spoke to the store manager about this. He told me that he had met the "captain" for the Lexington site and that they were told in a meeting that the store would be open in the second quarter. I asked him what did that mean, and he told me that for them it meant anywhere between May-September. So i guess we can only hope that its sooner than later.

Trader Joes is to Whole Foods as Marshalls is to Macy's if you can kinda understand that. I hope that was a good analogy. They do carry a lot of the same items, but may not have the selection that WHole Foods have however the things they do have they can offer them at a MUCH more affordable price. I hope they do well in the Lexington area In Atlanta ( which is where I lived before coming here) Treader Joes is a huge hit.

Thanks for the update. The sign is on the building now so I'm hoping it will be open soon.

Good analogy!

I'm from Atlanta, too. Used to shop at the Midtown location all the time. I can't wait for this thing to open so I can get all my favorites again...

I grew up in the shadows of Lexington but now live in California. I can walk (and have walked) to TJs from where I live.

Heavenly.

It's open now! Has anyone been yet? I'm thinking about going out there later today just to check it out.
