Does anyone know if after market HID lights are legal? I had surgery and my night vision is poor. I had them on my last vehicle which I just traded in. The "yellow" headlights on this 2013 are terrible. I currently live in Florida and I'm looking to move up there soon.

If you don't know who would I get in touch with up there to find out.

Thanks

If you also get the proper housing, yes. If not, you blind everybody in sight. Cops don't enforce this, rather than go after 20 year olds with six-packs walking down the street minding their own business... but please don't be "that guy".

Well that's easy because I'd be "that girl" I sent an email to the dept of motor vehicles the same day I posted this and never heard back. I'll look into it and see if they have a proper casing they can put in. I was never "flashed" in my 2009 so I'm guessing the mechanic that installed them made sure they were adjusted to a good height. Thanks for the reply.

what car do u have?

does your car have projector headlights? if you don't have projectors light output is typically worse with HIDs, and you should just put in some different bulbs.

here is a projector headlight:

It's a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. I'll have to check out the lights. I had HID's on my 2009 Elantra and they made a massive difference. The car has been redesigned but hopefully they didn't change the headlight's.
