When I first came to Lexington, honestly I didn't think there was enough to do (but keep in mind I had lived in Baltimore, in Connecticut (right across the river from NYC), Louisville and Miami...all much larger cities.)
In time, Lexington grew on me (and it has grown a bit in size also.) I wouldn't really want to live anywhere else any more.
(Your perception though is going to depend on where you are moving from and what you are looking for.)
Even though Lexington is a city sometimes it feels more like a town (and again this may just be my perception, since I lived in larger cities). You might love it here, or you might hate it...It is a great place to raise a family, not much crime compared to a lot places, it's a very clean city, and it is surrounded by lots of beautiful scenery, cost of living isn't too bad compared to many other areas...where are you from? (that would give me more perspective to answer your question.)
