An active retired couple is considering relocation to Lexington. I'd be interested in opinions on better condos in the Lexington area. Anyone have first-hand experience with Griffin Gate?
Griffin Gate is very nice, but there is nothing close to it. You'll be driving to another part of town for anything more than gas at a convenience store. Also, there is a REALLY rough neighborhood just across a fence from Griffin Gate. While there have not been any issues that I know of, I would not want to be that close to Winburn. There have been several shooting in Winburn lately. Do a Satellite view.
Some of the better ones in the $250k-450k range that are geared towards empty nesters are: Heritage Place, Walnut Hill Club, Prestwick, The Tradition, The townhouses in either Hamburg or Beaumont (most have first floor master bedrooms), Rabbit Run.....None of these have golf courses within the neighborhood though. Didn't know if that was what drew you to Griffin Gate.
