I have a possible job offer in Lexington, the office I would be working at would be located downtown On W. Short St. I was wondering how bad the commute would be from Richmond to Lexington, and What would be some reasonable apartments to look into renting. Also I noticed Winchester is not far from Lexington, can anyone shed light on that city as well?

I personally would hate that long of a commute, but I have known tons of people who commute from Richmond and some who have commuted from Winchester...so many people have and do do that. Best that I can tell you would save considerably on your housing. How much money are you wanting to spend? How much room/bedrooms do you need?
Do you have pets? Children?

A couple years ago I commuted from Lexington to Richmond to finish my degree at EKU. I rarely encountered a traffic jam on I-75, however it's a long commute mileagewise. Richmond is a fine place with the most shopping of any town in the region not named Lexington but I'd recommend a closer in town such as Georgetown. There's no guarantee gas will stay below $2.50. G'town would give you by far the easiest commute to downtown and is a nice, fast growing town.
