I was wondering if anyone had some information on retirement communities in Lexington. I found two on the web: Hartland Hills and Richmond Road (I think.) Does anyone have any personal experience with either of these places? Thank you!

You might also look at Tanbark, Richmond Place and they just built a new one somewhere off of Liberty Road. I think it might be called Liberty Ridge. I have a friend who has a relative residing at Tanbark and she said her family really likes it. I don't have any direct dealings with any of them. All of those are senior living communities..not sure if that is exactly what you are looking for? Good Luck

My sister lived in Hartland Hills and it was really nice but also very expensive. Don't know much about the others.

I don't know about the two you asked about, but my father-in-law is in the assisted living section of Tanbark. Tanbark is on Tates Creek Road. They have 3 levels: assisted living, personal care (which is on the assisted living side but for people who can't take own medications, etc), and nursing home. He has an apartment with a sitting room, kitchenette, and bedroom. It looks like a plantation home on the outside and resembles a fancy hotel on the inside. The price was consistent with other assisted living facilities until he went into "personal care"--now the cost is around $5000 a month. He likes it, they treat him well, and the food is good.
