Wife and I had a wonderful trip to KY last week. We dined at Dudley's on Short in Lexington and a painting they had on the wall showed what appeared to be of a street in Lexington alongside a canal. Does anyone know of a street like this in Lex? It looked really pretty. Maybe was actually a picture or Netherlands lol, but really looked like Lex. Ok thanks!

That was likely in downtown where a creek (Town Branch of the Elkhorn) was buried under either Main or Vine decades ago. There is talked of bringing it back to the surface and having a River Walk type corridor.

Town Branch runs mostly beneath what used to be Water Street, between Main and Vine Streets, in downtown Lexington. Now this is an alley which runs behind the public library, the police department, the helix garage, city hall, etc.

There are certain drains along Town Branch's buried course from which the running water below is quite audible.
