No, sadly the last of the large Kentucky Dawahare's clothing stores closed about ten or so years ago.

Dawehare’s had the best clothes when I was growing up. I still have a couple of shorts from them. Those things are probably officially antiques now.

The Dawahares had their own interesting story of getting to eastern Kentucky, then Lexington, then beyond and Lexington together in different measures at different times.


I knew one of the later generation sons growing up. I didn't think that much about "class" before college but I picked up on it more with time. They hustled up and ran a hands on business empire. A less conventional out of Appalachia story. About Dawahares - Dawahares.com
