I was reading this New Yorker article from last year about the situation with cable companies, specifically using Lexington as an example of the problem. It might interest some of you if you haven't seen it - and I wondered if there has been any notable shift since then?

Nowhere are the drawbacks of such an uncompetitive market more evident than in Lexington, which has become an active center of resistance.

Yes, Metro Net is finally coming to town (thank you Mayor Gray and City Council), it will take them
awhile to lay down all their fiber optic cables in Lexington but once they do, Lexington is suppose to be able to lay claim to having one of fastest internet cities in the country.

My Son says this leaves Spectrum in the dust, speed wise. So competition, which is always good...it's coming.
