True! The powers that be there are also local people - not shipped in from other banks/areas. They have a understanding of the community and the people. Just seems different to me some how. I've just about convinced myself to go change my account to Central! LOL

I would open a local checking account & use an online-based Savings account & link 'em together. I use ING Direct for our savings & they are awesome. Since they are online based, regular banks simply cannot compete with their rates.

ING Direct's current rate: 3.40% (used to be in the 5's before the crappy market)
Fifth Third Bank's current rate: 0.25% (why bother?)
