OK, so I ask - where do the rich people live in Lexington? I am curious to see the areas where the big money resides. We are moving into the area soon from California and I imagine a million dollars will buy you quite a lot there.
Well, there are a couple of nice areas. You might check out Chevy Chase, Ashland Park, and generally the 40502 area. If you like a bit of land, look for a piece of property in Woodford County or out Old Richmond Road.
Drive down Lakewood Drive and those streets, Galaxie Drive to The Curtelage, Ashwood Drive, generally as mentioned above the 40502 area in between Richmond Road and Alumni Drive.
The term "rich people" is kind of odd but anyway......Walnut Grove Estates, Brookmonte, Hartland Executive, McMeekin Place, Barrow Wood Lane. Mainly on the southside of town.

The snootiest subdivisions in Lexington are Firebrook (west of Harrodsburg Rd at Jessamine Co line), Hartland ( east of Tates Creek Rd and south of Man o War Blvd),
btw Tates Creek Rd and Alumni Dr southeast of UK, and Andover Forest off Liberty Rd outside Man o War
Firebrook just seems like an average Lexington neighborhood to me. The homes are what $300,000 - $600,000? That's nothing compared to some other places around town.
A million dollars will buy a whopping home in Lexington! Some of the subdivisions mentioned have very nice homes, but not near a million dollars. A million dollars would buy you a beutifully built custom home with a small amount of land. Out Richmond Rd as has been mentioned is one area. I agree generally with InLondon's thought processes. That's the direction of some amazingly expensive and beautiful homes.
