OK. After reading through the threads, my husband and I have ruled out Lawrenceburg.

We didn't mind Versailles, but it's hard to find rentals. The newspaper comes out once a week, and it doesn't have an online classified section. We spoke with Matthews Realty (I think) when we were in town. $595 isn't bad for a townhouse or duplex in that area (I think), but she wanted an extra $30 a month for the cats on top of a $250-$300 pet deposit (on top of the regular deposit). That is just insane. I've heard of one or the other but not both. And never that high of a pet deposit.

Is Versailles really this unfriendly to pets? Or is there a house, duplex, or townhouse below $700 a month that won't take every dime we have for our pets or make us feel like we're living in a box?

We're also wanting to look at Midway, but we're having the same problem finding rentals.

If anyone has any insight, it would be greatly appreciated and would relieve my frustration .

Here is something I did years ago: I was buying pet food in the feed store in Versailles, and the lady there knew of a good landlord in Midway who was very pet-friendly. It makes sense that the feed store would know such things. I don't know if that is any kind of help at all, or whether it was just a godsend just then. If you want more specific details (the people's names), you can send me a direct message. Versailles and Midway are beautiful and definitely worth a little networking to find a place...
