I'm probably the last person to find this site in Lexington, but I thought it was pretty neat. It's a crime map of Lexington, that lets you know what's been going on in your area, or an area you'd like to move, to recently.

The link is malformed, but it can be found HERE.

After living in some large metro areas, it gives me comfort to see a map such as that.

I check it all the time. One thing I have learned is that a busy street always has more crime due to cut through traffic. Routine traffic stops can turn into a narcotic crime, so don't be too freaked out of a main drag near you has the narcotic "dots". Also, a neighborhood that is under construction has a lot of thefts from people stealing construction material or copper.

Not from aroudn Lexington, but am considering apply for grad school at UK, is it reasonable to assume that the Southeast corner of the area is the safest, judging from that map?

Not if you make it show crime for all of 2008. Most shootings were along Man O War Blvd from Armstrong Mill to Liberty Rd. The SW part is the safest

I'm surprised their were 2 murders and 1 shooting off Liberty Rd @ Henry Clay Blvd - I remembered that seeming like a nice area

The Lexington police department also has a crime map:Citizen's Crime Watch Home Page

I like it because it is searchable by address and will show you reported crimes for the last 6 months.
