I am due in December. I read on here in an OLD post and also on a few other sites that St. Joseph East was the way to go. However, now I'm starting to get conflicting answers since we live here.

I want to go with as natural a labor as possible. But I'm not ruling out anything because I know that in the middle of labor, I could change my mind. I like the fact that St. Joe has labor tubs.

I guess I am just looking for a more updated view of the Lexington hospitals. Thanks in advance.

I should add that we just moved here. Been here a week and a half. When I went to the Maternity Fair there last week, just a few of the vendors told me what they thought about the hospital... eh....

I have my first appointment with Associates for Women's Care on Wednesday, and if I should be going somewhere else, then I should change my game plan.

Central Baptist or St. Joseph East would be my two picks. I never delivered in either one, but my sister had her son at St. Joseph East and had a good experience. I've known co-workers that went to Central Baptist, said they were understaffed, but it seems like most hospitals are that way now, doesn't it? I'm sure you will get much more helpful responses from ladies that have delivered here in Lexington. Good luck and congrats!

Okay thank you. Good to hear of another GOOD experience at St. Joseph East.

Thanks for your post. I hope to hear from other ladies that have delivered in the Lexington area soon!

A co-worker of mine had her baby girl at St. Joe East last year and couldn't say enough nice things about how well they took care of her and the facilities overall.

Starting to breathe a sigh of relief over St. Joseph East. Thanks!

Keep 'em comin'!

By the way, I like Lexington so far (well okay we live in Wilmore... but I like what I've seen of Lex so far... and we came in by the Lexington Center at night on moving day and I have to say I've never seen a beautiful city... but I do think Lexington is very close to being beautiful! Especially there at night!)

Honestly, you can't go wrong with either hospital. UK is also good, and has the best NICU. Most people don't need that, of course; but it's good to know it's there.

Okay. Thanks! I guess I'm going to continue on my track with St. Joe. If we find out baby needs a NICU, I will definitely be going to UK.

Thanks!

Thats who my wife goes to. We had Dr. Butler deliver our daughter at St. Joe's East and loved it. It was private, the nurses took great care of her and were very friendly.
