Since this is a four year old thread, I expect the OP has long since determined which school best suits her child.

However, Sayre is indisputably a good school. Lexington is blessed to have several excellent schools, both public and private.

I worked as a nanny for several wonderful families, and I can tell you some had kiddos at Sayre and at the Lexington School, along with some public schools thrown in for good measure. : )

I can never speak well enough about the families I worked for, they were all wonderful parents who actively sought out the best for the children and as a result they have wonderful and happy kids. Always treated me with love and respect as well. All that to say, I observed that my families knew what they were doing and made their kids a priority, so you can trust that.

Knowing this, I would support Sayre over the Lexington school. One of the children I nannied (nicest and smartest child!) was bullied at the Lexington School and I don't know that anything was really done about it or that the school chose to notice.... Personally, just going through the drive through and watching how parents interacted with each other and with their kids made me feel it could be a little snobby and less focused on the child's holistic well being, but certainly competitive with test scores, etc... You might be better off having your child compete for a position in a magnet public school if they are older and in any way different from the stereotypes.

Sayre is great and I've never heard anything bad about it except the cost. If you can manage to be very present in a public school setting, you'll be fine, especially at Cassidy elementary school. Again I have nothing but positive to say about that school, even with it being public.

Of course this is only one person's humble opinion, so do your research, visit the school and just check in with your child once they are enrolled and trust your gut! Good luck to you and your family! Remember there is good and bad EVERYWHERE you go, so just keep your eyes open and be willing to try something new if a school doesn't turn out to be a good fit for your child or family. : )
