Hey guys

I just want to share this with you. I recently received my Kentucky Utilities electric bill via email. It was 195 dollars for 27 days. It has NEVER been that high for that low amount of days. I don't know how to read an electric meter but I googled and found out quickly that it is a piece of cake. I looked at what the bill had for my kilowatt usage for the 27 days I was billed. It said the "actual reading" was on Aug 17th, the next day Aug 18th was the day I received the bill via email. It said that my kilowatt hours used for those 27 days was just over 2500 and the meter reading on 8/17 was 44316. I go out to me meter and look at 24 hours after the actual reading and it says 43218!!! That was ALMOST 1000 kilowatt hours they over charged me. I immediately called in and they issued me a 75 dollar credit. New bill is 120 dollars. Just an FYI , google how to read your electric meter and check the bill and compare your meter to what they say they read.

I have an electronic meter, I should imagine they are pretty easy to read. I know I should be keeping track of them but I haven't been.

Well I have Blue Grass Energy and they told me my bill was high because they didn't average in the past. So my $35 ish a month is really going to be averaged at $75 ish. Which I'm glad I'm getting a new air/heat system and extra insulation in my attic for this winter. Thats on a 1030 sq ft just me and I'm not using air. Just an fyi.

Trickle down dishonesty... the latest fashion! Glad they at least corrected the problem.

Right!

I'm just glad that when I get my bill I can KNOW based on what my actual meter says (now that I know how to read it) is correct or not. I read some places in the country, the power co's will let you call in what your meter reading is, then they bill you based on what you tell them. Once a year they will verify.
