Hi I was wondering if anyone could give me any info on 3 bedroom townhomes, duplexes. We have been relocated to lexington and had every intention to buy a house when we got here, but we feel like we need more time to get to know Lexington. So we have decided to rent for awhile. We have 3 small kids so we would need at least a 3 bedroom. Our price range is 900-1200 a month, schools are not an issue since we have our kids in Christ the King. We would like to try to stay around Chevy Chase or Tates Creek area. Does anyone have any suggestions??????? Thanks for your time

Well, for your price range you can get a house. Were you wanting a townhouse or duplex for some other reason, or were you just thinking it would be more affordable? I have a tenant in there now, but I get $1100 a month out of a 2200 sq ft updated house, 2 car garage, 2.5 baths in Gainesways if that will help you out with market rates.

I doubt you can get into Chevy Chase at that price and get something that will be big enough for a family of your size. Gainesway is a very short drive down Greentree/Chinoe to the school. Another neighborhood that is a little further out Tates Creek is Belleau Woods. I am sure you can find a rental house in your price range there too. Another option might be the neighborhoods outside Man O War at the end of Alumni Drive. That is an easy drive to the school too.

If you were wanting only a townhouse or duplex, I think your preferred area will have a lot of college students potentially. Areas to avoid are anything near Appian/Crosby Drive and the duplexes near the Tates Creek Library (lots of college kids!)
