Yeah, I agree with most here. This area is hardly the "ghetto". Sure, its not all nice a shiny, but who cares? It has lots of character, historic homes, etc. Lots of potential.

Plus, downtown Lex can use all the help/development it can get. Right now, what most consider "downtown" is pretty small relatively speaking. You have to bring some industry to areas like this first to turn them around, so this can only help.

I predict it'll become a hotspot in the next few years.

Marvelous idea IMO! Eastern State provides beautiful old buildings that should be utilized and this is a great use of land and buildings. To say that Eastern State sits inside some sort of crime war zone is insane. Plus, remember it was a psychiatric hospital for pete's sake! I suspect if patients could be kept safe, that alert and oriented students can be!
