We will be stopping in Little Rock on our journey. Coming up I-30 heading east to I-40. We are just looking to stay in an area I can feel safe with my wife and daughter. Is the airport area ok or is there a certain area we should or shouldnt stay. Thanks in advance for any input.

Coming that direction, downtown/the River Market would be convenient and provide dining/entertainment options for the evening as well.

River Market Lodging - River Market - Downtown Little Rock, Arkansas

Around McCain in North Little Rock might also be a good option.

jenni-b, I read they are looking for a place to stay, not visit. Look again and see what you think.

right, but when I stay somewhere even just for the night, I'm usually looking for someplace to have dinner, and maybe even do a bit of convenient sightseeing.

that's why I wouldn't stay by the airport; there's NOTHING out there but the hotel. it would be just as convenient to their route as downtown or the McCain area, though.

If it were me, I'd also stay in the river market area- there are several reasonably priced hotels there and you're very close to a few good restaurants and near the I-30/I-40 interchange. There are a few hotels on McCain (I know there's a HIE and a Garden Inn off the top of my head) that wouldn't be a bad option either (and they are close to chain restaurants, generic shopping if needed).
