downtown is actually very convenient to I-530, which takes you to Pine Bluff.

Ahhh, I see your issue with the internet. I'm going to guess you won't get the speed you need in East End, but it never hurts to check.

The majority of traffic in the morning comes north on I-530 into Little Rock. I'm a bit of a lead foot, but I make it from White Hall to downtown Little Rock in under 45 minutes easily, even with the bottleneck you get where I-530 and I-30 merge (with folks also trying to come into L.R. from Benton/Bryant). You'd be going the other way.

West Little Rock is nice, but might be a bit of a stretch to keep it under an hour (unless you drive like me ). Downtown would be a good choice. The Heights and Hillcrest neighborhoods are pretty centralized, and also nice areas. I wouldn't think you'd have a problem with the commute from any of those three.

Thanks SO much for all of your information!! I actually booked my house-hunting trip up there for next week. I have shared all of this advice with my relocation broker so she knows where to be looking. I am very excited and nervous. Fingers crossed that I can find my dream house on day #1 and then I can set out and take a look around :-)

Hi there, just checking in to see if you had your house-hunting trip and had found an area you liked. I may be moving to the area as well, also for a job in Pine Bluff. Unfortunately for me, the "up in the air-ness" of the job offer precludes being able to come house-hunt. I'm doing a lot of research here and would love to hear your impressions, if you were able to go.
