It is dangerous for a city of 200k. That said much of the violent crime is most prevalent in specific areas of the city.

If your planning on moving to the Little Rock / North Little Rock area I would suggest Cabot or Beebe! They are smaller communities with great schools. Who have there own amenties which are very nice and plus you won’t be to far from LR. If you need the “Big” City for anything!

About 6 years ago, I patronized a convenience store in downtown Little Rock. There was a sign posted that indicated that if you were wearing a hoodie, you weren’t allowed to have the hood covering your head. Prior to seeing that one, I’d never seen a sign stating that.

Funny, until you see us bookended by Kansas City and Springfield, Missouri...not exactly paragons of crime-centric metropolises.
