Thanks for sharing!

Did you know? That there were several questions on the 2020 Census that you weren't required to answer.

You didn't need to provide your middle name.
You didn't need to provide your sex.
You didn't have to answer whether or not you are of Hispanic, Latino, or Spanish origin.
You didn't need to answer what your race is.
You didn't need to answer whether you usually live or stay somewhere else, other than your primary address.

When it asks "Please provide an answer to the question", if it does not show up with red textboxes or otherwise kick you out of the survey, you do not have to answer it, it literally asks politely just that one time, before letting you bypass it completely.

No different than people filling out the old paper census...certainly nothing prevented them from only answering certain questions then either. Regardless, the Census Bureau has a multi-step process for gathering/projecting missing data.

Google it...there's lot of information on how they interpolate missing data.

I'm surprised conway's population isn't any higher. Well it probably is considerably higher when the 3 colleges are up and going. I like conway. I hate Conway's traffic. That is going to have to be addressed.

Metroplan has updated its population estimates for Central Arkansas for 2022. Candidly, it's surprisingly robust in my opinion, given the predictions/outlook of slower growth.

Little Rock
  • 2020 - 202,591
  • 2022 - 205,525 (up 1.4%)

Pulaski County
  • 2020 - 399,125
  • 2022 - 404,009 (up 1.2%)

Central Arkansas (LR-NLR-Conway MSA)
  • 2020 - 748,031
  • 2022 - 760,933 (up 1.7%)

Summary
Total net change for the MSA was up almost 13,000 people in two years, of which...
  • +11,502 due to net in-migration (this is a good stat)
  • + 821 due to natural increase (births over deaths)

If accurate, this rate of growth over 2 years is a higher clip than the metro experienced from 2010 to 2020

Promising trends!

Greenbrier and Vilonia will soon be in this conversation. Also it's amazing how in a short timespan, Sherwood has become the new Jacksonville, and Jacksonville has gotten even worse.
