Yes, Holy Souls!!

Overall, private schools in LR are MUCH less expensive than they are where I live now (Memphis). My son starts school next fall, and it's going to cost me a fortune.

I've heard very good things about Christ Lutheran on Markham. I always enjoyed going to the German festival there.

We looked at PA and on top of being way to expensive, $8200 year they don't have room, moot point at that price however. Thanks for all the input, we'll look into them.

Little Rock has that marvelous borderline between the Deep South and the Mountians that Birmingham has. I think someone that loved one would love the other.

My only problem with far west Little Rock is if you work downtown during the day you have to drive facing the sun on your way to work and facing the sun on your way home. If you will be working in central or downtown LR then invest in some heavy duty polarized sun glasses.

I have lived from Pleasant Valley to Downtown and currently reside in "mid-town" which used to be west Little Rock. There are plenty of safe neighborhoods scattered around town.

The only large scale area I would consider somewhat unsafe would be South of I-630 to Asher and just west of MLK to Fairpark.

As Sam I Am said, most of the crime is the same folks against the same folks.
Its truly a shame. I have lived in some of the less savory areas when I had less money, and almost never had any issues. (I have always had dogs).

Default You will like west little rock

The only problem you might experience is some frustration with Pulaski County Special School District, as they can be a bit of a pain. But the individual schools, like Baker and Robinson Elementaries, are wonderful selections, contrary to what you might hear people say. PA is way over-rated. Our children are in Robinson Elem., and it is a wonderful school with GREAT, down-to-earth teachers. If you are into the new, up beat, family friendly area, West Little Rock (as in Aberdeen, Bayonne, DuQuesne, and Chenal), will treat you well.

I love it here.
