Hello everyone. I'm traveling to London for 4 days over my 11 day vacation to Europe and I was wondering how safe it is in London to walk around, ride the tube or otherwise. I know a majority of you are probably sleeping now as it is nearly 3 AM when this post is made, but I just need some opinions of those who are living there. Do you think the rioters will target more affluent areas moving forward or does it look like the riots are stopping?

Thanks for any and all responses.

Don't know with regards to more affluent kicking off but parts of my old area in W2 was targeted last night and that is affluent.

Somehow I expect a more pro active police reaction if Mayfair, South Kensington or Hampstead is actually targeted though.

The Police have been a little tardy to date in certain areas which should to my mind warrent some questions being asked.

So you still want to visit London? Just joking you'll be fine. Go and enjoy.

Travelers have been effected by the rioters in Michelin Starred restaurants. Just have to be careful I guess. Finding the highest security places to visit is probably the best idea.

Really London is a pretty safe city especially I suspect with the sort of places you will want to visit as a tourist.

Just don't carry anything too valuable exposed. At night know where you are going and don't make yourself vulnerable.

But really London is an incredible city with most visitors loving it.

go to touristy reas, most cities around the world have more police presence there, because they are Targets, for exapmple NYC has police stationed in Grand Central Station and the Empire state building more than street corners in the Bronx.

I think if you stay out of the residential areas 'high streets' and stick to central London you will be fine. Rioters aside you are still in a major city so as long as you use the common sense you would in any other large city you should be absolutely fine.

It even looks like the riots are quieting down now.
Have a great time.
