Hello all,

I just booked a flight for June 30th and apparently I will arrive at 9AM at London City and my flight at Heathrow departs at 2PM. I will have to take the Jubille line to the Picadilly which will take me to Heathrow... Is it possible to make it on time?

Will the olympics affect commute times?

Thanks in advance.

The Olympics will not have started by then.

Check your check in time for the Heathrow flight which is dependent on whether it is an internal or international flight.

Perhaps you could contact that airline and ask for advice.

Although I fully realise that this is way too late to help the OP, I feel that as a Londoner, I should point out to anyone contemplating a trip from LCY to LHR in the future, that taking that trip by road, would be both way more expensive, and take longer than using Public Transportation.
There are two options, both taking a similar amount of time.
A) Take the DLR from LCY to Canning Town, take the Jubilee Line from there to Baker Street, take the Bakerloo Line from there to Paddington, and from there take the Heathrow Express to LHR, around one hour seven or eight minutes total.
B) easier, as there are only two switches, DLR to Canning Town, Jubilee Line Canning Town to Green Park, then Piccadilly Line Green Park to LHR, about one hour four or five minutes total.
My house is a five minute walk to a Jubilee Line station, from there it is around 18 minutes to LCY, including a switch at Canning Town.
Going the other way, it is about one hour to LHR, with one switch, at Green Park.
Going by road from LCY to LHR, would probably take a minimum of 1h 35-40 mins, possibly more, and when I was driving a Black Cab would have been £90 -£100, no idea what a chauffeur service would charge.

Last I heard, the new Elizabeth Line is due to
open in December 2018, so don’t try it yet.

I am not a native to London, but it seems to me you are on four lines and Bakerloo Line is not well suited to carrying luggage.

I should think that would be easier and cheaper to do the following three lines with luggage:

Take the DLR from LCY to Canning Town (7 minutes), take the Jubilee Line from there to Green Park (17 minutes), take the Piccadilly Line from there to LHR (47 minutes).

Your proposal would probably take less time, but involve much more manhandling of luggage on a tight car.
Take the DLR from LCY to Canning Town (7 minutes),
take the Jubilee Line from there to Baker Street (22 minute),
take the Bakerloo Line from there to Paddington (4 minutes) only three stops
Heathrow Express Paddington to LHR (15 minutes)

The Piccadilly Line cars have more room on the end for luggage.

Crossrail will open in May 2019. At that point you will need to take a taxi or shuttle bus from airport just over a mile to Custom House for Excel and then it will be just over 50 minutes to Heathrow.

I appreciate your input Paco, but if you re-read my post # 4, your suggestion was my option B, which I said was simpler, as there were only two switches.
I am a native Londoner, but I’m always open to being told that I may have got something wrong.
