Hello,

We are thinking of going to London for a week this winter, probably the end of January/February. We had also considered Paris, but after seeing the riots and other problems in France recently we've decided to just do London. But I've seen the political turmoil in England on TV as well, and wonder about the chances of street riots there too. In case of either a "hard Brexit" or an overturning of Brexit. What's the general feeling about that from the man-on-the-street?

Thanks.

if your going at the end of January or February you should be fine.
we are supposed to be leaving the EU at 11pm on the 29th of MARCH so if this dosent happen any riot should be after this date.

We're not like the French who are very fond of a riot. We like to do a lot of complaining first, before we riot. You should be all right.

Dave’s right about that, when the first bombs came down in September 1940, Londoners bitched more about the buses being diverted around bomb craters, making them late, than whole streets being blown away.
In France, the further south of Paris you go, the less chance you have of running into a gilets-jaunes road block, but they can appear anywhere.
I have relatives in the north, around Lille and Lens, who’d like to tar and feather Président Macron, and equally I have some in the south, Montpellier, Toulouse, who no longer communicate with those in the north, as they love M. Macron.
Granted, the southerners are mostly plumbers, electricians, and builders, who work “off the books”, and wouldn’t pay one thin dime in tax if they could get away with it.

Hmm. We are visiting mid April. Hope you get the rioting out of your system by then. No seriously, what are the odds they just delay any decision and move the date back a bit if that deadline passes?
