Michelin haven't postponed their awards, indeed the UK awards were announced last night.

Michelin seem to have been quite considerate and understanding in relation to some temporary closures and some restaurants moving to take away services with far more restaurants being awarded stars than being demoted, only 6 restaurants were demoted, whilst a further fourteen lost stars due to covid related closure.

Two London based restaurants run by female chefs were upgraded to three star status, meaning London now has five three star restaurants, with a further two just outside of London at Bray near Windsor.

Whilst Andrew Wong in south-west London won two Michelin stars, making it the first Chinese restaurant in the UK to get such an award.

Current and future London restaurants to watch are West African Akoko Restaurant, which has impressed many food critics.

Davies and Brook has seen chef Daniel Humm come full circle as it was here, as a 15-year-old, that he first found his feet in Claridge’s kitchen. Now, more than 25 years later, Daniel has returned with a single goal: to create the capital’s most delicious and gracious dining experience.

While sharing some influences with Daniel’s iconic (3 Michelin Star) Eleven Madison Park in NYC, the food, interior and feel of Davies and Brook combine to create a Michelin-starred restaurant that’s entirely its own. Hopefully with the pandemic now subsiding this will be another success story.

Whilst Humm's partner at Eleven Madison Park, Will Guidara is involved in the NoMad chain of hotels and restaurants, with the firsr outsideof the US recently opening in London.
