hahaha cannot answer your question but while driving home on the Northern State in Commack this evening I passed a car that had an emblem "for official NYC use only".
I was wondering the same thing about that car ...

Just wanted to know how these trucks are supposed to be used? We know of someone that is really abusing the use of it. Any feedback on this issue of misuse of taxpayer's money?

Why don't you just call the town and ask?

Well...I think you answered your own question. Using government resources for personal use is obviously in violation of policy and depending on the DA concerned....may in fact be a misdemeanor or a felony.

The town seems to ignore and protect their employees by dodging questions or simply ignoring inquiries. Would it be best to directly contact the DA's office? In a time when our home prices on long island have dropped and never did our taxes, the additional misuse of allowing town vehicles to be used to drive to and from work is bad enough, but to see these workers using the vehicles for personal use is outrageous.

Dont know how many times I have seen fire vans like explorers etc parked at Suffolk Community College. They are there at times when school is in session and parked in the regular parking lots!! Dont tell me every single day they are at a fire there!!

Can you please define "truck" and "personal use". It's hard to imagine someone using a larger truck for much personal use. My neighbor is a town employee and I see him occasionally at the store shopping during his lunch break. Is that the type of personal use you are talking about? If so, that is so minor it will never impact your taxes.

And we wonder why the "Heroin epidemic" cannot be solved. We're bothering the DA with real problems, like some guy using a town truck to haul away his own garbage.
