Manhasset is more expensive, although a fixer upper in Manhasset Hills will still run you about $850K. The library in Manhasset is amazing and holds lots of programs but you must be a resident of Manhasset proper. Manhasset Hills is diverse- lots of Asians and a vast majority of Indians. You will find beautiful homes in both areas and your neighbors will most likely be in the medical, financial, law and engineering fields. As mentioned, Manhasset Hills is part of the Herricks SD, which is a lot larger than the Manhasset SD.

I had been house hunting the past 3 years and there is a huge difference between the two, as I looked into both. Manhasset hills is a fancier New Hyde Park... full of splits (which I hate) and asian/indian engineer/doctor types. Manhasset is where all the rich Irish live, alot more ritzy, with classy tudors, colonials. Million bucks gets you nothing there and I couldn't afford Manhasset.

I read somewhere Manhasset is the place which steals heart. Many people who are brought up in this place love to stay for a greater part of their lives. And this is the best place for the ones who love to stay in an old fashioned way.
