The Hamlet of Manhasset is larger (1,592 acres) than the Hamlet of Manhasset Hills (335 acres).

Manhasset is one of those villages and hamlets on Long Island where the majority of places with the community name in their mailing address (4,424 acres) are not in the hamlet (1,592 acres): places that have a "Manhasset, NY 11030" mailing address that are not in the Hamlet of Manhasset are in the Village of Plandome Manor, the Village of Plandome, the Village of Plandome Heights, the Village of Munsey Park, the Village of Flower Hill, the Village of North Hills and the Village of Thomaston.

Manhasset Hills is one of those many villages and hamlets on Long Island where none of the places in the community (335 acres) have the hamlet name in their mailing address: places in the Hamlet of Manhasset Hills have a "New Hyde Park, NY 11040" mailing address.

The Hamlet of Manhasset is in the Manhasset Union Free School District and the Hamlet of Manhasset Hills is in the Herricks Union Free School District.

From what I can tell Manhasset is the nicer more North Shore looking town. Homes have more character and are diverse, in fact, in the village of Munsey Park no two homes sitting near another are allowed look the same but yet the village holds a common theme. Check out the village, you'll see what I mean.

Manhasset Hills is more typical LI, developments of Split-levels and identical Colonials. It reminds me of an upcale New Hyde Park, I think (but I'm not sure), they share the same school district. Ask Walter on that one.

Walter Greenspan, does NHP and MH share the same SD?

The Village of Munsey Park is not part of the Hamlet of Manhasset. In New York State, villages can not be part of hamlets and vice versa.

The Village of New Hyde Park and the Hamlet of Manhasset Hills do not share a school district.

Thanks Walter. Munsey Park is part of the Manhasset area. They share a SD, I do know that.

What hamlets are part of the Herricks SD?

Both are nice area. Just very different even though they appear to share the same name. Its like comparing upper east side & upper west side. I can't even begin to compare them.

Manhasset school district is usually anything in the manhasset parks district. Manhasset Hills is part of the Herricks SD, but not at all part of the Manhasset SD. They are two different areas.. Manhasset is more expensive, and north of the LIE, manhasset Hills is south of the LIE. They are both nice, but very different. If you live in proper manhasset (parks district), you can park at the train station
