I'd say to save more and buy in a nicer area.

I agree. Chances are once you buy on LI, you can't buy again, so you might as well invest properly. BTW congratulations on being able to buy your first home at such a young age.

Central Islip. My suggestion look into Islandia village, it's part of CI and assuming you're white. It's the only section of CI with a significant white population. I think over 50% but you're still in the CI SD. Good Luck.

Islandia is a village and Central Islip is a hamlet, and, in NYS, a village can not be part of a hamlet and vice versa.

A map of the Village of Islandia in the Town of Islip, Suffolk County:

Islandia is one of those many villages and hamlets on Long Island where none of the places in the community have the village name in their mailing address: places in the Village of Islandia have a "Hauppauge, NY 11788 and 11760" and "Central Islip, NY 11722 and 11749" mailing address.

Look genius before it became a village most of Islandia was part of Central Islip. That's why they share the same zip code and a majority of the students attend Central Islip schools. Use some common sense when writing your posts rather than making out that the other poster doesn't know what they are talking about.

Today it still has the nickname White Central Islip or South Hauppauge. The original homeowners of the Levitt homes in what is today Islandia were promised they were zoned for Hauppauge school. Someone in the Levitt company lied but like many Levitt communities it still remains largely white.

Get your information updated, all of Islandia now has the Central Islip zip code. The USPS took care of that to clear up confusion and to the dismay of those residents that were originally part of Hauppauge and Ronkonkoma.

No battle, just use common sense. These little hamlets and villages mean nothing if they are connected to a larger hamlet town or community. South Valley Stream is part of Valley Stream, Islandia is part of Central Islip. These are the places they get most of their services, goto school, mail and many times vote If you take these hamlets and villages so literally they start to make no sense.
